OMAN: THE SOUL OF ARABIA

HOME OF WAVE HOLIDAYS

WHY CHOOSE WAVE HOLIDAYS FOR YOUR OMAN JOURNEY?

Our Oman journeys are shaped by the moments that linger: mountain light, hidden wadis, old souqs and shores far from the familiar.

Oman rewards those who travel beyond the obvious. We can bring together Muscat’s understated elegance, Nizwa’s living heritage, mountain villages, desert landscapes, the seasonal beauty of Salalah and the untouched coastline of Barr Al Hikman. Every itinerary is designed around your pace, interests and comfort, with carefully considered routes, distinctive stays and enough time to experience the country rather than simply pass through it.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN OMAN

From storied cities to remote shores, discover Oman at a pace that feels entirely your own.

A COUNTRY OF QUIET CONTRASTS

Oman moves between worlds with effortless ease: the understated elegance of Muscat, the living heritage of Nizwa, mountain villages shaped by ancient falaj channels, and desert roads opening into vast, silent horizons.

Here, the most memorable journeys are rarely rushed. Wave Holidays brings coast, culture, mountains and wilderness together in a thoughtfully paced itinerary, leaving room for private moments, meaningful encounters and the freedom to experience Oman in your own way.

THE REMOTE BEAUTY OF BARR AL HIKMAN

On Oman’s eastern coast, Barr Al Hikman feels far removed from the familiar. Pale shores, shallow turquoise waters and seasonal gatherings of migratory birds create a landscape defined by space, stillness and natural beauty.

This is not a destination for hurried sightseeing. It is for travellers drawn to rare places and a deeper sense of escape, with the route, timing and pace carefully considered so that every part of the journey feels as rewarding as the destination itself.

LOOKING FOR INSPIRATION?

A DAY WELL SPENT IN MUSCAT

Muscat reveals itself slowly. Begin beside the sea in Muttrah, wander through the souq, linger over lunch, then follow the coast as the evening light settles across the mountains.

FROM NIZWA TO THE MOUNTAINS

Beyond Nizwa, the road leads towards old villages, terraced gardens and cooler mountain air. This is Oman at its most atmospheric, best explored with time to stop, look around and stay a little longer.

BARR AL HIKMAN, FAR FROM THE ORDINARY

White sand, shallow turquoise water and an extraordinary sense of space. Remote and beautifully unspoilt, Barr Al Hikman is for travellers who would rather discover a rare place than follow a familiar route.

FAQs

October to April is best for Muscat, Nizwa, Jabal Akhdar, the desert and the northern coast. For green landscapes in Salalah, travel during Khareef, from mid-June to September.
Plan 5 to 7 nights for Muscat, Nizwa, Jabal Akhdar, and either the desert or coast. Add 3 to 4 nights for Salalah, or 1 to 2 nights for a properly planned Barr Al Hikman extension.
Yes for Jabal Akhdar, where four-wheel-drive access is required, and for remote off-road routes such as Barr Al Hikman. A standard private vehicle is sufficient for Muscat, Nizwa and the main highways.
Yes, but it offers expedition-style luxury, not resort luxury. Expect privacy, untouched scenery and carefully managed logistics, with an unpaved final approach and limited infrastructure.
No. The strongest luxury stays are found in Muscat, Jabal Akhdar and Salalah. Remote coastal and desert areas may require a private camp or a simpler lodge, so these nights should be selected for location and experience rather than hotel facilities.
