Luxury Indian Subcontinent Holidays

TAILOR-MADE TRAVEL IN THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT

Travel across the Indian Subcontinent can take very different forms. India needs careful routing simply because of its scale, while Bhutan is shaped by mountain roads, guiding and a deliberately slower pace. Nepal brings altitude and access into the planning, and Sri Lanka works particularly well when coast, wildlife and the interior are balanced rather than rushed into one circuit.

Our tailor-made journeys through the Indian Subcontinent are planned around season, distance, guiding and how much movement actually adds to the trip. The aim is to leave enough time for each place to feel distinct, rather than turning four very different countries into one continuous itinerary.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT

SACRED PLACES, GIVEN ENOUGH TIME

Spiritual traditions are part of everyday life across the Indian Subcontinent, but they are experienced very differently from one country to another. Varanasi rewards an early start and a good guide. Bhutan’s monasteries are often tied to mountain walks and long drives, while Nepal brings temples, pilgrimage sites and Himalayan landscapes into the same journey.

The value is rarely in fitting more sacred sites into the itinerary. It comes from timing them well, understanding the context and leaving enough space for the experience itself.

WILDLIFE BEYOND THE SAFARI CHECKLIST

Wildlife travel here depends heavily on season, habitat and the quality of the guide. India offers tiger reserves with very different landscapes and levels of visitor traffic, Nepal adds rhinos and lowland national parks, while Sri Lanka combines elephants, leopards and marine wildlife within a relatively compact journey.

We look at where the wildlife is likely to be, how much time a reserve deserves and whether adding another park genuinely improves the trip. A good sighting matters, but understanding the landscape around it matters too.
